Surveys on file in Islip? UPDATE

Does anyone know if they keep property surveys on record in the town of Islip? Who would I contact to get a copy? I found this page with contact #s: http://isliptown.org/contactus.cfm
I was going to start with the Planning & Development department and go from there...

Update:
After a few phone calls, I found out that it's the Building Department. For anyone in the town of Islip needing a survey on file, the phone number is 224-5470, and the address is 1 Manitton Court, Islip NY 11751. It's behind Town Hall on 655 main Street (Montauk Hwy). It cost $1 for a copy.

Sometimes you can get lucky and surveys are on record (people need to file them for c/os and such). You can go down to the down and pick them up from the building dept. Like Betsy said, call the assessors office and they will be able to help you.
