measurements?
My doctor hasn't measured me once and I don't think he plans on it.
Is it normal for a doctor not to measure you and/or tell you the approximate size of the baby?

Re: measurements?
Have you had sonograms since the Level 2? That's the only thing I can think of as to why they don't measure you. My doctor just started measuring - and I don't get to get any more sonograms...so I am thinking maybe that's why?

Re: measurements?
you mean the belly measurement? I think that is only towards the end (at least that's when they started measuring me)

Re: measurements?
Well I'm 35 1/2 weeks and he hasn't measured me once, I haven't had any sono's since the Level II. I mean I had the 3D/4D but that was elective and not diagnostic and he didn't see any of the pics or anything.
I just ask because everyone keeps asking me how big the baby is and if my Dr measured me and he hasn't

Re: measurements?
I never had a growth sono. With DS, the doc did measure my belly at each visit after 30 weeks. She would say that I'm measuring at xx Weeks. At my 40 week visit she told me she thought the baby would be around 8.5-9lbs, boy was she wrong! DS was 10lbs 3 oz.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Those measurements (of the belly or sono) can be totally off.

Re: measurements?
My doctor measured me at my last appointment (26 weeks) but she didn't say anything about it. With that means that everything is normal

Re: measurements?
Every visit since I started going the doc has measured the distance between my pubic bone and the top of my uterus (I believe this is called the height of the fondus??). I don't know how this correlates to baby size, but he usually tells me the measurement and I go home and look to see if it matches what it says in my pregnancy week by week book.
