Some people are rude

Theirs this women at work who I just cant stand, all she does is talk and talk and only about herself. So today some of the girls asked where if i registered and about my bridal shower, so she decides to put her two cebts in and tell me she never had one b/c shes superstituos and its bad luck to do it before the babies born, etc, going on and on, oh and shes catholic too (i am jewish but DH is catholic), so she made sure i knew that even though she was, she still didnt have one and neither did her friends who were catholic, and for her freinds that did have a shower, they didnt keep anything for the baby in the house, etc.
now is that something you say to someone 5 months pregnant, i was so mad b/c its so mean, yes their are people who feel this way and yes they are entitled to their opinions but dont be rude about it, now shes making me think i shouldnt have one and making me nervous b/c i do have stuff for the baby in the house already (nothing big, some toys and stuff) please reassure me that shes just a jerk

NOTHING**** will happen because u bought your baby things.
She said these things because she probably wanted one deep down and one of her relatives were probably dead set against it.
I set my 1st nursery up early and sat in there and daydreamed in the rocker. everything was ok!
Do not worry...
Next time she says something just say/...Don't be a hater and walk away.

She is a jerk. I had someone make a big to do about my buying furniture before the baby was born, complete with a horrendous birth story gone wrong. I said I would just throw holy water around the room.

People suck sometimes!

eta. think of the number of people that register & have showers? IF that were the case, there would be no catholic babies born.

Please there are so many woman that do showers before born matter of fact I never been to one after the babies born anyway.

Don't worry about what she said. I am ordering my nursery furniture this week and I am 18 weeks. So what, if you see it, you like, you buy it, and why wait

Yet.. another old wife's tale. I heard you are not supposed to buy anything before you are PG or it's bad luck. Then it's not before 12 wks...

You are 5 months PG. They are is NOTHING wrong with buying and registering for the baby stuff.

I would have told her that it was done "in her time". NOW things are different.

I promise you, nothing will happen if you have baby stuff in the house. That lady has some nerve, and you should tell her to mind her own business!

Tell her to go drink her "Hater-Aid" someplace else! She's just trying to rain on your parade because she probably had someone do it to her. Meanie!!
