In the ongoing saga of my shower..new dillema

Since DH & I are basically doing this ourselves, who should the RSVP go to? My mother made on off comment about putting her phone number on the invite & making sure she had all the necessary information. I did not even think of who the RSVP/contact person should be.Chat Icon

Opinions appreciated, thanks!

I don't think you should be the rsvp contact. Maybe you can just put DH's cell #

If your Mom is up to doingthe RSVP's then just put her number down on the invites.

Put down your mom's number and give her all of the info.

Re: In the ongoing saga of my shower..new dillema

I am headed that way, as I know she will be insulted if I do not. DH is adamant about her not getting any "credit" for the party. She offered to throw the shower and then backed out with 100 reasons why she could not do it. DH is furioius b/c she was the same way with our wedding. He feels that if she gets the RSVP, then she will walk around all day like it is her party, and really he is the one doing everything.

That is the issue. Chat Icon

I'd probably put DH's cell on it as long as he's ok with it.

I would put DH's cell number. You can also do "regrets only" so he doesn't get an overload of calls.

Can you ask a close friend?
Really neither of you should be the RSVP or host. I am sure a friend wouldnt mind hosting, even if DH is paying.

Actually, I have a friend that offered to throw the shower, I did not feel right having her do it. Maybe I will call her today & ask if she can be the RSVP. Good idea!

Thanks all for your help!Chat Icon

Re: In the ongoing saga of my shower..new dillema

did you consider having your guests RSVP via email. you can always create a free acct and call it "baby(yourlastname).***.com or something like that?? I've seen that for a few showers and honestly, I prefer emailing my response rather than having to call and speak to someone I dont know...

I would ask a friend to help with teh RSVP and a MsMBVsBabyShower@gmail (yahoo, etc).com too. We make up RSVP email addresses for almost every party we throw. It goes over well.
