Messed up my level II app't
So i go for my 4 week check up (i am 19 weeks) and my dr asks if i made my 20 week sono appt, so i tell her yes i made the level II appt , and she says, i hope you also made the pelvic sono, and i look at her confused, and she starts laughing and says that a level II, which is what the radiology facility i am going to refers as it as, is only for women who tend to be over 35 or have possible medical issues as it is a very detailed 90 min exam where they look really indepth at the baby (e.g fetal echocardiogram, etc) and doctor is involved and counsels the couple, etc. She said i was just supoose to make an appt for a normal 20 week pelvic sono, which is only 30-40 min and looks at the baby (so obvously you can find out the sex hoefully) but is not as indepth as a level II, since i am healthy, only 26, and all my bloodwork has been excellent. So now i feel so silly (and it starts to make sense why when i called the MRI place they told me they only have 3 set times throughout the day for the exam-i didnt know why i couldnt just come anytime LOL) and ask her if i should change it. she was great though and said i could still go, i should consider it a treat since DH and I will know get to have a very thorough exam. she even wrote on my presciption that she is recommending it b/c i was exposed to CMV ( i am already immune to it-had it as teenager), b/c shes afraidi'll go and the people there are going to be like why are you having this? She asked why i said level II to them when i made the appy and i responded, b/c thats what we all refer as it to on this website

weird...i have an appt for a level II in a week and I'm only 27. i thought everyone got them.

every radiology facility is differnt my dr. said, the one in my area i go to, has so many different tests and their level II is different from another places level II, it is a littel confusing but i guess, by me a typical 20 week sono, is just called that

No. The perinatology place I go to doesn't do a Level II either, I just call it that on here.
On my referral, it was called a anatomy scan, and mine was more simliar to Bayla's, where it was about a half hour and they checked the baby's organ's, brain and chambers of the heart.
And of course told us that it was a

Uh-oh! I wonder if I made the same mistake!  I have my 19 week appt with my doctor on Tuesday, I'll have to check up on this!!

that's weird
my dr's office has always referred to it as the level II sono but it is not the in depth appt that you described
