I got a promotion but I'm concerned
So I had applied for a promotion at my job in May. Since that time, I have been on 3 interviews for the position and got word today from my present director that I was accepted and my start date is Feb 12
However, my concern is that the director at the new position is not aware that I am pregnant. 6 months pregnant at that. I am just worried that me being pg will cause a problem or make them change their decision.
My DH has stated that they hired me for my qualifications and if they change their mind on Feb 12th just because of the pg, that is discrimination and a lawsuit.
I guess thats true and I shouldn't be worried but I am just concerned.
Its a great opportunity and making more $$$$ with way better work hours which will work out for the best with the baby.
What do you ladies think? Anyone ever been in this situation? How did it turn out? Should I be worried?

Re: I got a promotion but I'm concerned
it isn't legal if u get fired for it, but I did. I did not know any better and never did anything to them,. i say go for it and when they ask...say..never thought about bringing it up. I do not mix my personal life with work.

Here are my random thoughts-
I think your present director may have mentioned it -no?
Even so- you werent pg when you applied.
If it comes up your commitment wont change and thanks for the opportunity
Congrats on your promotion!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I got a promotion but I'm concerned
I just started a new job, and told them as they were hiring that I was pregnant. Obviously it wasn't a problem, I was hired, but I think it varies from job to job. They do have a right to know upfront in my opinion.
