Skiing during pregnancy...
we just found out we're expecting and we had a planned skiing trip with our friends this weekend...my husband is begging me not to go...I want to but I'd rather be safe than sorry...
What would you do?

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
I personally wouldn't go skiing. I would be too scared of falling.

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
I wouldnt ....The risk of falling and something happening would scare me too much.

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
Although you have to be careful, skiing is OK during the 1st trimester from what I read.
Just take it easy. The black diamond is probably not recommended

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
My friend went skiing all through her 1st trimester. The baby is well protected in there. Just make sure you stay well hydrated.

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
I think it depends on how good a skiier you are. Stick to trails that are well within your ability level and you'll be fine. . . are there any cross country ski trails that you might be able to do?
I love skiing and if I stick to the easy trails I wont fall - but I wouldnt do anything challenging while pregnant - no moguls!
and if you feel uncomfortable - a hot cocoa by the fire with a good book is a great alternative!

Re: Skiing during pregnancy...
I wouldn't do any skiing or outdoor [sport] activities at all...simply too risky in general and to add pregnancy to the mix, well, if anything happened [even if the dr. could prove it was from something else] I would never forgive myself.
