MY pet peeve
When people ask me if I am coming back to work after the baby, and I say yes - they say "Oh - you'll see - you may not!"
That really bothers me... If I was in a position to stay home, then maybe I would a bit longer, but when I tell them - no, I'm going back to work, and they still challenge it, I feel like I am forced to explain my financial situation to them....

People did the same to me, but opposite situation. When I would say "No i am not coming back" they would say "Oh you'll see, you will want to get out of the house, and be around people your own age again." Like they know me better than I know myself? Whatever! I know how you feel!

Re: MY pet peeve
I think my boss did a cartwheel when I said I was coming back after the baby! As for others, I don't know that I've really discussed it at all [yet]...but once I do, I'm sure I'll ignore whatever they say.

Re: MY pet peeve
I still get that It makes me feel awful that we can't afford for me to stay home.
Now they say, "How can you leave that sweet face very morning"

Simple. That sweet face likes to eat.

I feel the same way when I tell people I'll have to go back to work--it's not by choice people!!!!!!!!! Although I know for some women, it's not just financial, they just thrive in the work environment and see the benefits of daycare for their children.

I get the same thing. It almost bothers me as much as when people used to ask me when DH & I were planning on having kids
