Effects of the Deep Freeze

I'm so upset that the orange and strawberry crops are going to be lost. I just heard that they anticipate the cost of oranges and orange juice to triple, the same for strawberries.

DH makes me a shake every morning to have on the train with Milk, OJ, strawberries and banana, I love having it. I eat an orange everyday and I snack on berries of all kinds in the evening.

I was thinking of buying frozen berries and OJ concentrate to have around for a while as a cheaper substitute. Does anyone know if you get the same benefits from frozen?

nope. The nutritional value & absorbtion rate is changed once it is frozen. It is a little better if it is "Fresh Frozen".

Wow, I didn't realize it will lose some of it's good stuff when frozen. I always just try to remember to buy frozen fruits that are not packed in sugar or syrup. Bummer
