Baby Shower Question
Me along with my mother are throwing my sister a baby shower.
I feel that 3 hours is to short with gift opening and eating, and i think 4 hours would be better.
Also can anyone give me what the average price for a restaurant in nassau with a party room would be per person?
We have called a ton of places already and my sisters mother in law thinks that the prices are outrageous, so im just wondering what you guys think
Thanks

Re: Baby Shower Question
4 hours is usually the standard and I'd say the average price per person is about $26. It can range from $15.00 pp-$36pp. Totally depends on where you want it.

Re: Baby Shower Question
Since I have done both, BTDT..for my sis and mine happening in March I have come up a few prices.
Depends on buffet or sit down but average was $25-35pp Some were a little more. Its also an event where alcohol is not needed to no need to pay for that.

Re: Baby Shower Question
I agree - I have found that prices range from $25 - $36 with the higher of the range for sit-down.
I've also come across restaurants that offer the party for 3 hours but there is a way around that. First, they will and do allow your guests to arrive 1/2 hour before your scheduled time. So, a 12:30 event would be listed on the invite with a start time of 12:00 noon. They all brought this up right away and were very willing to accomodate. They also are usually very good about service and moving things along so as soon as the mommy-to-be enters they get moving on appetizers.
Also, I found that the restaurants offering the 3 hour event usually allowed for the party to go over on one day as opposed to another. For example, Saturday dinner started later so you had the whole restaurant to yourself plus it was okay if you went until 4 (which would be 1/2 later and still make it a 4 hour event with a 12noon start). Whereas on Sunday we had to be out by 3:30 and no later since they started setting up for dinner AND they still served lunch during the event.
