Stretch Marks???
Is there anyway to prevent them? I heard coco-butter helps. Is this true or just an old myth?

Re: Stretch Marks???
Ask your mom if she got them - I think it's more genetics than anything. I never used anything and I don't have a single mark. Neither did my mom after 2 kids.

Re: Stretch Marks???
I've read that its just genetics, you'll get them regardless of what you use. Although using cocoa butter can help with the itchyness of your stretching belly and boobs.

Re: Stretch Marks???
Nothing prevents them, they are heriditary. If you are gonna get them, you are gonna get them. Lotion will help soften your skin but that's about it. Luckily, I only have a few on my sides, none on my stomach at 30 weeks

Re: Stretch Marks???
I too have heard that if your mom had them, chances are high you will get them. I use an insane amount of cocoa butter (the body butter from the body shop) and smell like a butterfinger half the time. I'm praying that it will make a difference. Since I haven't gained weight yet, I don't have any. Fingers crossed!

Exactly! Lotion helps with itchy stretching skin. I never used it, only when i couldn't stand itching.
My mom had stretch marks, so did my grandmother, but I got none on my tummy. Only tiny tiny ones near my belly button where it used to be pierced that was pierced and those faded witin 2 weeks of dd's birth.
I got vicious gross ones though underneath my BOOBS! No cream would have stopped those! Thank god they are underneath and not noticeable!
