Aversion to Chicken?
So yesterday after making myseld a nice lime marinated chicken, I took one bite and immediately had a gag refelx. I tried to chew past it, but no such luck. Apparently I dotn like chicken anymore. Which may be a problem since its really the only meat I eat. Lets hope I begin craving steak.

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
Early in my pregnancy the same thing happened. I went from eating chicken almost everyday to not being able to look at it. Now I can though....although I crave red meat more.

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
OMG--you are my twin. I used to LOVE chicken and would eat it at least 2 or 3 times a week. I CANNOT eat it now. All I want is red meat....hamburgers, steak, you name it!! My DH is loving this because he is a real meat eater, but I am freaking since I didn't used to eat this much meat before. Although, the iron can't hurt! I hope it passes soon! I am 10 weeks along....

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
I haven't been able to eat red meat and chicken when I go out to just doesn't do it for me. It always seems too dry and hard for me to chew and swallow. But when I make chicken at home... all homemade and juicy... I could eat the whole bird!

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
OMG... I am a huge carnivore and ate mostly chicken.
Now... I can't even look at it. It makes me really sick to see the raw chicken. I can't handle it, touch it.
It's really bad

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
It never went away for me. I used to only eat chicken and on rare occasions had red meat. Since getting pg, I will only eat red meat and even at 28 weeks, this hasn't changed. My DH is loving it.

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
So funny you posted this. I have never been a huge chicken fan, but I would def eat it at least once a week. Now I can't even think about chicken! I am totally grossed out. I also have an aversion to chinese food lately.

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
me too! I was always a big meat eater, and now I'm lucky if I can get down chopped meat in meat sauce. Chicken is not even an option...I gag just thinking about it!

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
I have the SAME thing! It is really awful. Looking at it, smelling it, thinking about it...forget about eating it - chicken has become COMPLETELY repulsive to me! It stinks too because it used to be one of my prime protein sources...that and fish which is also out the window now!

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
Before I was pregnant I only ate chicken. I didn't eat any red meat or fish for 10 years! Now all I want is red meat and chicken makes me gag, raw chicken, even more gross.

Re: Aversion to Chicken?
I had seafood 3 times a week at least and once I got pregnant I couldnt even look at a piece of salmon. I dont eat a lot of red meat but I had a steak aversion as well.
chicken is ok but there's something about the look of a big piece of pure protein on my plate that is not appetizing to me.
