Level II Question
My doctor's office charges $50.00 to do gender determination at the Level II. That doesn't seem right to me. Have any of you had to pay?

that is WRONG. I'd contact your insurance company about that. Or find another Dr. They already get paid several HUNDRED dollars for sonograms from the insurance companies.

I thought it's part of the sonogram to determine gender (make sure all organs are present). So essentially, they are charging you for the tech verbally saying, "It's a _____"
That's so messed up.....

WTH? I have NEVER heard of such a thiing! What is their reasoning for that? Seriously? I mean, the Level II is really a screening to see all of the baby's organs so seeing the gender is definately part of the whole kit and caboodle.

I know, I am pretty ****** about it. But the bright side is I wanted to change Dr's anyways, so this gave me the final push to finally do it.

Ummm I think it is time to find a new doctor - I hate to say it but there are many doctors out there who pull shady things like that. There is NO reason that they are charging extra for sex determination - I would call your insurance carrier and report it if you go thru with it - and find another doctor.

What???? No way should you have to pay for it! They are looking at the baby's anatomy anyway - is it really that difficult for them to focus on the legs for a few seconds to see what's there?
Ummm...for $50 I would expect a 100% confirmation of the sex, multiple pictures of the child, and a 3D pic. Seriously.
You should not be charged for something like this.
