XPost - Commuters...
Does anyone here commute by car from Suffolk to Nassau/Queens border?
How's the commute? Do you like it? Is it something you get used to?
DH & I both hate commuting, but are starting to consider moving to Suffolk since the homes in Nassau in our price range are not the greatest.
Any opinions are greatly welcomed!

I don't commute by car on a normal basis. I take the LIRR to NYC.
I do sometimes drive in and I really don't mind the drive. It's all about timing. Also, I live on the north shore, so the LIE & NSP are easily accessible.

I used to commute from Islip to New Hyde Park a few years ago. It was okay, not great. I tried many different routes and short-cuts but it alwasy seemed to take an hour. Even longer on a rainy day
Now I commute from Islip to NYC on the LIRR and it takes 1 hr 15 mins. I prefer this commute so much more. No road rage by the time you get to the office
