leg cramps

Does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night from leg cramps?
I thought I was going to cry last night - it hurt so much!!!!
I much prefer waking up every hour to pee!!!! Chat Icon

Re: leg cramps

Just about every night since about a week ago or so. I can't stand them. I know I am drinking enough, so that's not it.

Re: leg cramps

Oh no - I have actually heard quite a few people complain about the leg cramps. From what I hear - walking it out and massaging are the best to help but I also heard that raising your toes towards your heart (up) really helps. I have had only one but I raised my toes and it helped...man those things hurt! Chat Icon

Re: leg cramps

I had them once with DD...OMG I thought I was going to DIE.

*usually* leg cramps (PG or not) can be caused my a potassium deficiency.

Try snacking on a banana before bed!

Re: leg cramps

Postassium definately has helped mine.
Just an FYI--massaging doesn't always help...you need to stand up (as hard as that is to do) as quickly as you can and walk around or point your toes upward OR lean face forward against a wall on a slant bracing yourself with your arms and stretching your legs...that one works best!

YUP!!! As soon as I get them I get up, walk around, eat a banana and go back to bed. I don't have any more until I forget to her a banana. Lucky me lately has been having restless leg syndrome which REALLY sux.

Re: leg cramps

What else has potassium in it besides bananas? I'm allergic to them and the pain I get from them is far worse than any leg cramp!

Re: leg cramps

I would drink a glass of milk and eat a banana every night once I started getting these the first time and it helped.
