I was on MLSLI even more than LIF (if you can imagine that!). We went to open houses and had a RE agent show us houses. I called up for another house and the RE agent showed me this one. It wasn't in the town we were looking for so we never would have found it ourselves. I guess sometimes you fall into it! When you have the right house...you'll know.

Did you go to Open Houses, Search relentlessly on MLSLI, or use a real estate agent to take you around?
We are going to seriously start looking in the next 4-6 months.

we did all three...
We found a house that was a little more than our price range. Our agent took us around and happened to mention this house...but we went to look. Granted it was a bit more than we wanted to spend, but needed NO work at all...the only thing we did was sanded the hardwood and put a new coat on and then painted . It was a newer house 6 yrs old.
