What Do You Take For Heartbearn?
..other than Tums! Tums make me want to vomit. I have the worst heartburn and I've drank milk, ate some peppermints, ate a banana, and nothing is working. I have some Pepcid Complete chewables, but I can't find anything online that says it's safe to take those.

Ginger ale has helped me a lot. Also Maalox in the tablet/chewable form- they are like Tums (same ingredients) but the texture's much nicer- they are a lot easier to chew, and for some reason they seem to work better than Tums.

Liquid Mylanta when it is mild heartburn, Zantac is my best friend on the bad days!

Milk has been good for me. Chewing peppermint gum.
I also read that garlic and broccoli are supposed to help.

I am not pregnant, but I always have severe heartburn and I am on prescription meds for it. Milk and bananas actually make mine worse, believe it or not. If you read up on it, many doctors say to avoid milk during rough hb episodes. Eat really slowly and drink a lot of water. Find out if Nexium is okay to take and it is really the only thng that helps. Liquid Mylanta is also helpful. Good luck!

I found Rolaids chewables. They are much easier to take than Tums, which taste too chalky, and they help me a lot. For the past 2 weeks, my heartburn has been in full force!

Thanks for the replies!!
The odd thing is, I realized it's the milk that is making it worse! I drank a little bit yesterday and bam, the heartburn came on! I love milk, so I guess I'll have to stock up on the Rolaid chewables. I read on another boad that they are pretty tasty compared to tums.

Yes milk will make it worse. I dont really have bad heartburn but more like acid reflux. Chewing peppermint gum helps.

peppermint gum helps me as well... and yesterday when nothing helped I ate some ice cream and heartburn went away, it was a miracle
