BEST tattoo aftercare????
i just got my first tattoo on sat. and i was wondering if anyone can suggest the best aftercare for it. tia.

just wondering really, if its ok to get the tattoo wet in the shower. my place told me quick showers are ok, then my friend got a tattoo the same day at a different place and they told her NOT to get the tatoo wet at all. its too confusing.

Yes you can get it wet in the shower but you shouldnt be soaking in a tub or a pool.
You can use regular lotion (a little of it) if it gets itchy

When I got mine, they told me to buy Curel Lotion as it works the best and apply as often as I can. Whatever you do, DO NOT pick your scabs.

My hubby is a tattoo maniac. His entire back is inked as well as numerous ones on his arms and legs. I myself have 4.
The best care for a tattoo is: bacitration for 3 days. Put a nice layer of bacitration, then loosely cover with a paper towel. You want to keep it covered and away from the sun. After the 3 days moisturize moisturize moisterize. We use vasiline's intensive care. Keep it well moist.
Do not pick the scabs.
If it starts to itch, slap it. Do not scratch

I put LOTS of Lubriderm on it after a day or two, and the color is almost exactly the same as it was when I got it 6 years ago.

every artist and person has different healing methods.
i wash it gently with Dial liquid soap 2 or 3 times a day.
apply alot of Lubriderm every few hours.
NON-fragrented of course.
when in the shower (its totally ok) use an antibacterial soap.
pat it dry, dont wipe it too hard.
try not to itch it. dont pick the scabs.

I used A&D for a week. I covered it with saran wrap too for 2-3 days. Never itch it. My scab came off on it's own in one piece. Have fun with it!
