I have been asked that many times - by my family, no less! I am 20 weeks but I am quite full in the belly, despite only gaining 4 pounds so far! I just laugh it off.

Re: ok i think i need to climb under a rock
Yesterday at work I got "she popped" from someone from another office. Another girl from another office was like "youre not making it until your due date. I hope she is right. And then at dinner I got from a complete stranger - "Wow, big belly". That was a little nervy, but whatever. Im almost 36 weeks so I am big. Im supposed to have a belly, im preggo.
Mind you, all these comments were from yesterday.

Re: ok i think i need to climb under a rock
That's funny because I'm having twins and no strangers have guessed twins... well, then again, people have asked when I'm due.
With twins at 25 weeks, I look like an 8-9 month preggo woman.
Everyone carries differently and to be honest, I notice a big difference in my belly depending upon how they are positioned. Your baby's position might have something to do with it
Actually, DH wants me to respond (with a very serious look on my face), "Pregnant? What do you mean? I'm not pregnant?" Just to play with people Next time try that and watch them
ETA: DH's uncle commented about my belly and asked, "How far along are you?" so I answered and asked, "Uncle G, How far along are YOU?"

Re: ok i think i need to climb under a rock
Two weeks ago (at 19 weeks), a salesperson at the Gap said to me, "Oh, you must be due soon." I replied, "Actually, no, not really...in May."
She felt much worse than I did--in fact, I made excuses so *she* wouldn't be embarassed..."Oh this is my 2nd;" "My daughter is still a baby--15 mos."
I think when they hear the truth, people generally feel bad for their comments...and if not, who cares? I'm pretty sure you look fantastic!

Re: ok i think i need to climb under a rock
I think it's so rude when people ask that. Just last week my boss asked if I was having twins. I told him that's not very nice. I think he felt bad and said he didn't know, he thought maybe I was. Yeah okay. Someone else at work made the same comment. I'm not huge, and I'm pregnant for pete's sake! Asking a pregnant person if they are having twins is just a polite way of telling them their fat IMO. Some people are just rude.

Re: ok i think i need to climb under a rock
I had a cashier asking if I was expecting. When I said yes she said "you are so big".
Yes... I am a big belly for 3.5 months but I lost 2 lbs so... I am not stuffing my face.
