when i shoulg i stop?
pushing myself at work..
i am a pastry chef and on my feet all day....i get extremely exhausted and crampy throughout the day.. and pain in my lower region
i still have 4 more months of work.. i have to lift and push many heavy items 25lbs+
do u think it's too early to tell them i have to change my duties and work maybe 3-4 hours in the bakery then the rest doing paperwork/magagerial work... we already discussed this happening towards the end...
i think for maybe month 6 & 7 working half in bakery and half paperwork.. then 8 & 9 working all office duties....
i should tell them right..

Re: when i shoulg i stop?
If your body is hurting, it is trying to let you know that you shouldn't be doing those things anymore.
I am almost 21 weeks and work in a law firm, I haven't been picking files up for about a month now. I am not on my feet, but I do spend more time at my desk instead of running around here.
I think it would probably be a good time to tell them that you need to transition your duties.

I think you should take the rest of your pregnancy off and cook some pastries at home and send them to the LIF preggo's!
No, in all seriousness...you need to take care of yourself and if things are getting tough for you, I would say something and hope that some others can alleviate some work esp the lifting.

Re: when i shoulg i stop?
im having the same problem.. Im an OR nurse-- and cant sit.. drink water enough... or get to pee when I want.... nevermind the fact that I am still lifting and pushing patients w/o any help... I say if you CAN get light duty-- go for it... Im exhausted and cranky all day long--- and the only relief in sight is maternity leave!!! GL!!

I'm 21 weeks and I work in a law office too
I've been trying not to carry files and my boss has been accomodating and will come pick up the huge stack after I'm done with them. It's so hard for me to even bend over and put things away though so it's really tough for me to put them back in the drawer or even file my paperwork away. I try to stay at my desk a lot, but it's hard with all the faxes I have to send, copies I need to make, etc. I think I need a secretary, ha!
