Hospital
If you had a choice of a hospital on Long Island to deliver your child, where would you go and why?
Thanks!

Re: Hospital
NSUH Manhasset.
Why?
1. They got me pregnant in the first place I had IVF at the Center for Human Reproduction
2. Many twins have to spend at least a small amount of time in the NICU and they have the best on LI. Many infants born at other hospitals are transported to NSUH Manhasset because they have a very sophisicated NICU.
3. The practice that delivers the most multiples on LI is affiliated with NSUH and that's the practice I was referred to. The chiefof ob-gyn for Manhasset is one of the doctors in the practice.
4. I was very impressed with their facilities and the quality of patient care when I toured the hospital and after speaking to several moms who delivered both there and other hospitals each mom said they received excellent care there, better than the other hospitals they delivered at.
5. I like their policies regarding Daddy visiting hours and keeping the babies in the room with you for extended hours, more so than many other hospitals.
It's no where near the closest hospital to me as I live in Western Suffolk. If I was younger and naturally pregnant with one I don't think it would matter to me. It's just that in my situation I would not feel comfortable delivering anywhere else.
You just have to weight all of the variables for you and what you feel comfortable with given your situation. Speak to a lot of recent moms and they can relay their experiences.

I have had 2 great experiences at St. Charles. There is nothing I could find to complain about.
