Scary Phone Call
I got a phone call frmo my doctor saying that I tested positive for a Heterozygous G85e Mutation for Cystic Fibrosis. Of course this freaked me out. She said that they test for 23 things for this, and I only tested positive for one (this is me, not the baby). She said that she doesn't think there is anything to worry about. She said the only time to worry is if my husband has the same exact mutation. He is going to get tested tomorrow. She said the results take about 10 days. But she got my test results after 3 weeks. I just hope it comes back soon. Did this happen to anyone? Thanks!

Yes, I was positive for a CF mutation, and my husband who is 100% Italian was negative. I am Irish.. It is very common with Irish/scottish background. Since my Dh was negative-they said there was nothing for me to worry about.

I tested positive for the CF gene. My husband needed to go in for blood tests to see if he was a carrier. He is NOT a carrier. The testing is not bad...it takes about 10-14 days to get results.

Thanks ladies. My husband is going today for the blood work. I just wish we got the results like yesterday. It will be a long couple of days waiting.
Also, everytime I go to sleep, I try to make myself dream about what I am having (we are not finding out, but I just dont have a feeling either way). Anyway, last night I didnt do that, I guess I was just upset and tired. And this is the first time I had the dream. We had a girl who came 6 weeks early, but was perfect! I am hoping this is a sign!!!!

I tested positive for something - I cant remember what . DH was tested and all was fine with him. I now have 2 healthy children

I just went through the same thing. I am a carrier for Tay-Sachs and my DH had to get tested. His tests just came back negative, so all is well! It's nerve wracking while you're waiting for the results, but everything will be fine.
