spinoff: How do you know when they've eaten enough
Ped told me I'm to feed Ellie until she pushes the spoon away, but thing is she never does. I started feeding her double what I used to and my great eater was crazy crying by the end but still never pushed the spoon away but she must have been full, right? My problem is she loves to chew on things, so she wants to gnaw on the spoon, but not necessarily to eat anymore. Did anyone have a kid that didn't push the spoon away but gave a different signal that they were full? Or can you just tell me what quantity of food is normal for a 6 mos old? thank you. I hate that I'm back to worrying about her weight and feeding again. We went through this already when she was a newborn with the BFing, but then we got her through it and now we're right back there again

You have to learn your child's signs of when they're full. Ava never pushes the spoon away, however, she does lose interest in eating and will start looking around the room or playing with her toys on her high chair. Just try to observe as best you can to see what she does when she's had enough.

Julia will start throwing her food on the floor, or just shake her head no if I try to give her more.

DD appears less interested and starts to look around. Sometimes she will grab the spoon and start chewing on it too. I just let her do it for a bit and then take it back. Sometimes she slows down but then regains her interest and starts to eat again. I know she is "really" done when she starts to squirm and turn her head. She will be 6 mos tomorrow and eats between 1-2 tbsp per feeding.

E clamps her mouth shut or turns away - she's never pushed the spoon away but I can tell when she's done.
