Baby einstein..

Do you let your babies watch baby einstein videos? If so, which ones do they like? Megan is almost 4 months and I just started putting on the classical music one for her like 2 weeks ago and she LOVES it! So for christmas we bought her the santa one and the music and movement one. I always heard of children liking these but for some reason, never thought my dd would. But she does..do you think its ok to let her watch it so young? She only watches once a day right before bed time usually, it calms her down..anyone else?

I think it's fine. Nate watched them a few times a week from 3-9 months.... After 9 months he wasn't interested in them.

Re: Baby einstein..

watch away. I used to put them on for Roman when he was around 3 months, he would be interested for a short while. Now at 10 months I put him in the exersaucer and press repeat and I can actually take more than a 5 minute shower. He loves them!Chat Icon

Jordana is almost 8 months old and I only put it on once. I try not to let her watch TV since DH and I are total TV junkies!!I figure I will be a lot looser when she is a year old.

Yeah Ryan has that and baby mozart & shakespeare (we haven't tried that one yet) He LOVES them. Will watch the whole 30 minutes of it, he seems to be fascinated by it. I only put it on for him now and then so it doesn't get boring> He loves cartoons though if he sees it on TV.

My boys are watching LANGUAGE NURSERY as I write... let's just say they make coos everytime they hear the music box. They have only recently taken such interest - they are 3 1/2 months.Chat Icon

Re: Baby einstein..

Yes, DD watches. She LOVES the one about discovering shapes (Baby Newton, maybe?). She watches it all the time. It is on in my house almost all day, even if we are in another room, we hear it singing away. DH told me yesterday that he sings "I know my shapes..." at work! Chat Icon If I get in DD's way while she is watching, she moves her whole body to see around me -- just like her Daddy does! Chat Icon

In any case, she always has other activities going on. When she wants to look at the TV she does, and then she goes back to doing what she was doing. This may not be a good habit for her to get into but she is often very crabby during the day, and this helps her. I'm probably not a good mom for this, but sometimes you gotta do what works.
