I need the Wahmbulance -long
I'm in the midst of a pity party......
I'm still really uncomfortable with these fibroids- even with the painkillers. I haven't been able to go to school or my placement (clinical hours needed to graduate), let alone work.
I feel like I'm not getting enough information about what's to come with the fibroids. My OB said they are dying, and that's where the pain is coming from. I was under the impression 1 week to 10 days and I'd be good as new....
The dr. yesterday basically said that I'll likely be dealing with this through the whole pg. That I've probably always had them and always will. Apparently, it's common to have fibroids in pg, and that when they flare up, the only treatment (while pg) is painkillers.....
HOW am I going to live like this? I need to get back to my life. We are still trying to sell our house; it looks like I may not have enough clincical hours to graduate; I can't work while taking codeine- so money is tight. My husband is working down in VA, so I'm only seeing him every few days (although- bless his heart, he's been driving to and from VA for work so he's at least here at night). But with the price of gas- THAT has to stop.
Seeing the baby last night was awesome, but I have this impending feeling of DOOM, and can't help but think something is wrong. I know it's the hormones- I've been like a crazy lady today.
Sorry for the rant.....

All I can give you is hugs I had a friend just go through the same thing. She had fibroids throughout her whole pregnancy, and she was in terrible pain. But everything turned out fine in the end, she has a beautiful and healthly baby!

Re: I need the Wahmbulance -long
I m a homeopathic girl let me see what I can find for you-then check with your Doc to see if these things are OK during pregnancy. You could also try accupuncture but I would go to someone that has worked with pregnant women before. There is a lady in Amityville that Karacg recommended me to at the LI holistic Center. Her name is Andrea Weggles.
Alternative Treatments
Acupuncture. Some women report relief from pelvic pain and heaviness after acupuncture.
Yoga. Yoga exercises help some women relieve sensations of heaviness and pressure.
Herbal Remedies. Herbal remedies used for fibroids include ginseng or herbal combinations of rhubarb, cinnamon, and sargassum seaweed. It is possible that some herbal medicines may be helpful, but patients should always be wary of unproven claims for quick cures. [See warning box.]
here's a link Hope it gets better for you
