Work...

If you work full time when will you stop working?

I plan on working up until my due date, but home for the last month of my pregnancy.

Just thinking of working up until the day makes me stressed out. I'm only in the city 3 days a week now as it is and the commute is torture.

Had anyone planned on working up until their due date and just couldn't?

Re: Work...

As part of my disability package, I get off the 2 weeks prior to my due date. My last day of work will be March 9th, I think

Re: Work...

Im working up until 2 weeks before my due day. I hate coming here now with the way i feel. I can image working feeling even bigger than I am now. I am also a wimp. I also want some time off to myself before the baby comes.

I think I am going to work until 2 weeks prior to my due date.

I am in the city too and it is an hour or two in and back everyday and I just can't see bumping around on an express bus at 9 months pregnant.

And I am no where near the hospital that I am delivering at. I know that labor can take plenty of time, but I just don't want to have to stress about that too.

I think that you really need to try and play it by ear, if you can work at home, that is great and I would totally do that.

eta: my friend told me she took a month before her daughter was born and then she was a week late, she said she was going absolutely stir crazy by the point Madison was born.

I am thinking now is a good time to stop working. I'm almost 38 weeks. If I could take leave now and still have my 12 weeks after she's born, I'd totally do it.

Since I can't, I'm trying to think positive that if I keep working & commuting, I'll go into labor earlier. We'll see how that works out...

Re: Work...

I was telling my MIL last night that I would be working up until I have the baby. But after my commute this morning, I'm thinking that I'll have to stop earlier. I was so winded after walking the 3 blocks to the bus. Also the fact that people don't shovel their sidewalks doesn't help, there's ice patches all over the place so I end up walking in the street. I think I may ask to work from home 2-3 weeks before my due date.

Re: Work...

I thought I was going to work up until winter break at my school- 3 days before Christmas. But then I found out the extra disability insurance I pay for doesn't kick in when I am not working and takes 7 days to kick in. So I would be losing money. So I am going out 7 days before winter break.

I am so glad I am- I am wiped, now sick with a cold and the stress is just too much. I really want a break before my family decends on my house on the 19th.

My intention is to work up until I deliver so that I can use all my time on the backend. We'll see what happens.

Im leaving before Christmas break. I was going to go back after for a week or 2, but, my job requires a lot of physical work. So, I'll be done Dec. 22nd. I may still work a few hours, a few nights a week at my night job, but, we will see.

Re: Work...

I'm very very lucky to have unlimited sick time at work,. so as long as a doctor says I can't work, I'll be out.
I can't imagine I'll be working up until my due date....I'm thinking I'll be out about a month before....
then I have 2 months off for the summer!
