the closest to jogging you could come to is walking fast. i was told the bouncing of the belly is not good for your baby. also, you have to maintain a specific heart rate. you should speak to your doctor or trainer for details.

I was very active during my whole nine months. I stopped doing high impact cardio around 7 months due to the stress on the joints and ligaments. I would say it depends on how far along you are. You may need to just substitute by power walking or if you belong to a gym doing the recumbent bike or ellipitical machine. Also, ask your Dr.Chat Icon

OK, this is totally up to you and your doctor.

I am an extremely active person and my doctor told me to continue to do EVERYTHING (exceot for "extreme" sports- like snowboarding) until I am too uncomfortable to do so. The baby is COMPLETELY protected by any bouncing.

She also told me that the 140 bpm is outdated and that since I was active before I got pg, I can safely work my heartrate into the low 160s.

As long as your temperature doesn't rise to over what would be considered a "low-grade" fever (e.g. 100, 101), the baby will be fine. So, no saunas or hotubs after working out.

I know that as I get bigger, I will have to lay off the higher impact stuff (like running, step aerobics), as my center of gravity will be off and the liklihood of falling increases. I plan to move toward using the elliptical trainer once I'm too big to run.

definitely - I got the OK throughout my entire first pregnancy, but at month 9 I was too big to want to even walk.

I got the OK for this one too, but I am MUCH slower.

I was told it was OK and have kept up my joggin/running. I try and keep it at a pace where I can still hold a conversation, if I'm more winded I slow down a bit.
