Has anyone's DC ever done this?
This is beginning to really scare us - I have to call the doctor tomorrow.
Both DDs after eating or sometimes a little while later will turn bright red, head goes all the way to their backs (almost like a convulsion) and its like they can't breathe or swallow. I've tried using the aspirator to clean out their noses but its not that. I just smack their backs trying to get them to breathe.
It doesn't happen all the time but it's so scary when it does, and it happened last night while my parents were babysitting them and now I'm afraid to leave them with anyone. The other day it happened so bad I almost ran DD to a neighbor b/c it happened for so long.
Can anyone help - did this ever happen to anyone's DC?

When we first brought them home Jackie had crying fits but since we changed the formula, not really - I mean I think its the usualy newborn crying. And yeah there has been some spitting up lately.

Maybe it is reflux, it is very painful, is it only after they eat? Do their eyes roll at all or is it just their heads?

Re: Has anyone's DC ever done this?
We had a similar experience with DS, and it turned out to be really bad reflux. He spent 3 days in the hospital when he was 3 months old, because it was happening more and more often. The doctor suggested leaving our video recorder out and video taping it when it happened. The video really helped them determine the problem. (Of course, you can only do this if you are home with someone else, so you can take care of the babies while they are videoing). Good luck!

Re: Has anyone's DC ever done this?
hi! you might want to investigate reflux. but of course, you should definitely call your ped, video tape as someone else said, and then follow up as necessary. hannah had alot of arching after feeding to the point that i thought i was going to drop her. she still does to a point. she is unoffically diagnosed with having sandifers syndrome, which could mimic seizure like activity. she sees a gastroenterologist.
