when is it too long??

hannah is going on day eight of forceful spit up. it is not happening as frequently, thank goodness. but she is not herself. she is staying hydrated as she is making good wet diapers. but she has definitely lost weight. the docs have me now giving her 1 oz of formula every 1/2 hour.

the docs seem so laidback about it and of course, i am not. first time mommy syndrome i guess. but curious to know what others think.

thanks for all of the help. i know i post ALOT about hannah's reflux woes, but this board has helped us out tremendously. i don't have any other friends who have kids and have gone thru this.Chat Icon

It's too long IMO. If she's losing weight, it's time to do something.

I'm sorry to disagree with your pediatrician. I know the last thing you need is conflicting advice and he is the doctor. Please, please trust your gut.Chat Icon Chat Icon

eta. also don't ever apologize for posting too much on AR - I look forward to the day when it's under control & you're the board expert.

I'm going to agree with Barb on this one. 8 days is TOO long. She is losing weight, she shouldnt be. Im sorry, I dont want to worry you more, but I would take her to another ped if you feel your ped is not doing what you need/want.

We never went through it for 8 days but we did go through it from time to time and there big thing was the wet diapers. They seemed laid back as long as she was having wet diapers.
How much weight has she lost?
I don't think Miranda ever lost weight but she would sometimes go without gaining any which worried me.
I know it's super stressful and exhausting to worry all the time about your baby. Chat Icon
