Would you call the pediatrician about this?
My son is 10 weeks old...he is almost always smiling and happy and occasionally starts crying/cranking like any other baby.
However in the past 3 days he has had these episodes where he will SCREAM inconsolably out of nowhere. It took 45 mins last night to calm him and he fell asleep on me finally....
Then today I was going to kohls...he had been fed, changed, was smiling away...the second we walk in the store the screaming again..he cried and cried and couldn't be stopped. He is now sleeping but cried for a good half hour like that and didn't want his bottle, or his pacifier...
Has anyone been through this??? I wish i knew what was wrong...

DD is 10 weeks old tomorrow, I am having the SAME SAME EXACT problem, it is not everyday, but very often.
I have no idea what it is, my guess is that she is trying to sleep and just doesn't want to. When she does fall asleep, she is in a deep sleep.

Re: Would you call the pediatrician about this?
Thank you for the responses!!
I wish i knew it it were gas....the same thing will happen to DS...he'll eventually be in a deep sleep when he calms down, BUT i wish i didn't have to go through this crying. Not because it bothers ME, but because i hate not knowing what is wrong!!
Maybe there is some weird thing that happens at 10 weeks that makes a normal baby briefly turn into a monster?? I wish i knew!!

OMG I'm having the same problem with my little girl. She is 10 weeks today and for the past three days she has been like this. I think it's gas also, but I'm going to call the ped. tomorrow if it continues.

Yes. When Maddie was about 9 weeks old, she screamed so loud in Costco that I think she is solely responsible for several of those cashier's use of birth control. I mean full out screaming, uncontrollable. Nothing I did worked. I think it was gas.
You can try knee bends while holding him (and supporting his head). I learned that trick shortly after the Costoc debacle.

Re: Would you call the pediatrician about this?
WOW the same thing happened about 4 different times with Sydney... only lasted a short while but it was her hardest cry ever and she was inconsolable.. it was so sad.
it did happen when she was about 11 weeks old and happened once a day every other day.... hasnt happened for the past week (knock on wood) so strange that its around the same time for all of us!
i thought it might be super early teething... we took her to the ped and he said he thinks its maybe a gas bubble in her tummy giving her a bit of colic... and when it happens to give her some camomile tea.... we gave it to her twice and it definitely soothed her!

Did he have his shots recently? My first DD cried like this for a couple of weeks after the shots.

I am nervous because mine is 9 mths and this is happening nightly.. she screams bloody murder and wants nothing to do with anything.. no fever nothing.. I think it is teething but not really sure...

Re: Would you call the pediatrician about this?
Thanks for all the responses!!
While I don't wish anyone to go through screaming episodes, it did make me feel better to know i'm not alone.
He did OK last night..cried for maybe 15 minutes for no reason, then went to bed...and slept from 7:30p till 7am!!! I couldn't believe it. He has been sleeping about 8-9 hour stretches, but 12??? I'm sure its temporary, lol!
