Look for handicapped signs. Much easier than navigating a diaper bag & stroller on an escalator.

Also if you have a weather shield - put it on. There's all sorts of debris flying off of buildings.
If you have the bottle clips (that clip to your stroller) use them. Secure any kind of toy that she can toss over the side.

Oh! I'm bringing Jordy for the afternoon. We could have a play date. I think we work across the street from one another.
WHat I do is I carry Jodana in the Bjorn. If I didnt' worry about a place for ehr to nap, I would even bring a stroller.

Which subway are you going? You're just going up to Times Square, right? They all have ramps, but make sure you're going the way the handicapped sign is. There is a huge ramp at the Macy's subway station (BDFQ?) that ends at a 3 level staircase. Very deceiving.
Glad this post isn't on NFR with the handicapped signs.

Yes. I know that the E, 1/9, 2/3 have elevators for the handicap which you can use (Penn St) and also Times Sq has an elevator to the street. Just look for the wheelchair pix. Not all stations have elevators so you might have to carry the stroller at some point. I am sure some nice person will help you- they always do

Re: City travellin' with baby.
We took Nate to the Central Park Zoo in Oct and it wasn't too bad. At the subway stations that didn't have elevators, DH carried the stoller up and down or carried him while I carried the stroller. I would have been a PITA for me if I was by myself.
Packing a backpack is so much easier than shoulder bag IMO. Bring snacks and water. Plenty of wipes.

First of all for the last line. I was either going to take the 1 to 50th Street or the E to 7th ave, but either way, I think I will have to take some steps at my arrival destination...

Bella is 14 months and about 23 pounds, too big for the bjorn, no?

Re: City travellin' with baby.
Tricky thing with the subway is finding the elevator. You may need to flod the stroller and carry her and it up the steps.

Re: City travellin' with baby.
One more tip - limit beverages before & on the train. Joseph's second trip into the city (at 15 mos) he promptly threw up from looking at the window.
