Probably a really stupid question but
I'll ask anyway.
I was going to sterlize the bottles today (with hopes that my  will be tempted to come out) - but if I do them today do I have to sterlize them again before I use them? It says they only stay sterlized for x hours if I don't open the sterlizer. Should I just wait until she gets home?

i was wondering the same thing but DH remembered that at the hospital u get those little bottles that are filled already and u come home with some. so i think i may wait b/c we will have those to start with anyway.

That's correct. We used those bottles till today - 6 days old - just make sure anytime they bring them in you put them in your suitcase and keep asking for more. Take ALL the free stuff you can get your hands on!

I feel so bad doing that, but I know everyone does it. Do you empty it out several times a day or just once?

We were using them once a day - I'm also breastfeeding so they were supplements. But now we are reusing them and just keep sterilizing them.

Oh and make sure you as for lots of extra nipples for the bottles too. I told DH to ask for 10 and he felt funny asking so I had a student nurse get me them. She hooked us up. They should send you home with diapers too.
Oh and a friend told me to steal her hospital blanket the last day - just to have as a memory. I asked if we could have it and they said no, so DH took it while she wasn't looking and put it in our suitcase.

i dont know how i am going to feel about taking them either but EVERYONE keeps telling me to make sure i do it. but even if you only have a few it will give u time to get the other ones all ready.
when my friend had her baby - one of the nurses even told her to do it!
