Parties
Planning my son’s second birthday bbq in the backyard in August. What can I buy or put out for the kids to do?
Also, planning my other son’s baptism for September. Who can I hire for entertainment for the kids at a restaurant? See anything at a party you liked?

Re: Parties
We had DD's 2nd birthday in our backyard. A swingset/slide was her bday gift so that was a big help since the kids played with that. She also has a playhouse that she was gifted last year and a seesaw so those were there, too. We also had hula hoops, a ring toss game that we made, and a bean bag toss from her first birthday party that we put out. We didn't do goodie bags but we had bubble wands, sidewalk chalk packs (they come in packs of 4 at Michael's which was great!), capes/tutus and masks (beauty and the beast themed), and arts/crafts projects (belle/beast ceramics to paint and bound printed Beauty and the beast coloring pages with crayons). It was a lot of stuff- honestly though, there were enough kids that they occupied themselves. They did play with all the things, but they were just as happy raiding DD's toy room. My god that place was trashed after the party.

Re: Parties
My kids' birthdays are in the summer. I actually invested in a bounce house and now one of those inflatable water slides because they get used non-stop and keep the kids occupied for hours. Look into it. It's totally worth it. Other than that, I also put out the water table, the extreme roller coaster, all of the motorized cars, sporting equipment and of course I have the swing set too.

Get the intext inflatable family pool at target-- its 20 bucks and a great size.. will keep the kids cool and they will have a blast!! get some water guns/squirters/toys from the dollar store and they'll love it. Bubbles are great. Sprinkler if you can put it away from the adults. I agree to invest in one of the inflatable bounce houses- cost about $200 bucks and are great for ages 2-5.

Re: Parties
The step 2 roller coaster has always been a huge hit with groups of kids at parties bc they can take turns pushing and going down and pushing each other back up. I’m always impressed how nicely they line up! You can usually find one on a buy-sell group.

Re: Parties
At 2, kids can be finicky. I wouldn’t overdo it for entertainment. Bubbles in a bubble maker can be fun... along with some dance music. Add a couple of balloons and let them run around. It’s enough. If you have $ to burn, clowns, balloon makers and face painting is fun too... but not really necessary til later with longer attention spans.
As for bounce houses, the $200 ones (I had a little tikes one) won’t handle many kids (even small ones). I think I could do 4 MAX in mine. I wouldn’t get one for a party. They are better for small play dates.

ITA. We have one and we didn't put it up for the party. We had about 15 kids and a mix of ages from 1 to 7 so I was worried about the older kids getting too rambunctious and everyone fighting over whose turn it was to use the bounce house. Not worth having to police it IMO.

Re: Parties
My kids birthday's are end of June and mid-August. I bought a little tikes bounce house and we use it for both parties in the backyard or whenever we have cousins over. The bounce house was like $400 but we got a lot of use out of it.
For Children's entertainment I have used both clowns.com and adrenaline entertainment. Both were good. Clowns.com was a little more but they include a magic show in their package which the kids liked.

Awesome, thanks! Will buy a bounce house. Any recommendations?
What about the baptism? What kind of entertainment will the kids like? Also, favors for the adults and kids. Anything new out there?
