Please say a prayer for my son- update
He was diagnosed with croup Tuesday given steroid shots at the doctors . We have been in the ER 2x today, first for trouble breathing and he was monitored and fine in the hospital. We were sent home. He woke up at 11:30...he spiked a 104 fever and is diagnosed with RSV... still in the hospital... his twin is showing early symptoms that his brother was showing Monday... I’m beside myself ?? I don’t know where they got this from. We haven’t really been many places recently.. the park like 3 weeks ago that’s it but they aren’t in daycare, don’t see other kids etc...
Update- my son is home. Both seen by doctor today his twin brother is positive for RSV they are both on steroids antibiotics and a nebulizer... hopefully they will be fine in a few days but both are spiking fevers as soon as they are ready for their Motrin/ Tylenol

Re: Please say a prayer for my son
My daughter had RSV when she was around 9 months old. Hospital stay on Oxygen, all that. It's super scary, but they took great care of her and she was fine after a few days. Definitely bring his brother in ASAP to get looked at it. If you can catch it early enough he may just need some nebulizer treatments, it that. From what I understand, what may be a cold in an older child or adult, can develop into RSV in a baby - but I'm not 100% sure that's true. But there's nothing you could have done to prevent this, short of keeping them in a bubble away from human contact.
I'll keep your family in my prayers.

This- Get the other baby looked at! DD had RSV and got it from her cousin. Because we already had a feeling she might get it, we were able to stay on top of it and didn't need to go to the hospital. She was 5 months at the time, and she was just given a dropper of medicine (what you normally would put in a nebulizer) each night to control the cough

Ask your pediatrician about Synagis. My preemie received that when he was born.

Sending good thoughts! I hope he recovers quickly and you're other little one avoids it.

Great update.
They're going to have fevers as long as their little bodies are fighting this virus, it doesn't mean they are not getting better. Just keep an eye on how high they are getting, and if they are not coming down at all with meds.
