Is anything on etsy handmade?
I was on wish.com and almost everything I planned to order on etsy I found on there. Yes, I have to wait a month for shipping but it just seems so dishonest to sell everything on etsy which is supossed to be for handmade items.

My MIL and friend sell on etsy and their stuff is handmade.

Is anything on etsy handmade?
I think things need to be partially handmade to be sold on etsy. So for say, a headband, certain components can be mass produced (I'm guessing a flower and be sewn onto a band and considered handmade). From what I understand there are very strict parameters for this and sellers can get in big trouble if they're caught selling purely mass produced items.

There are no rules. You can't say something is handmade if it isn't though.

Yes. Lots of things are handmade. I buy lots of custom stuff there and have done research to know they are true independent, individual, family run businesses, etc. However, I have also seen stuff sold on etsy that anyone can do, that are mass produced and sold at regular stores, etc. But something else to be aware of, some of the people who handmake their stuff sell on multiple websites/avenues. I love this one etsy shop but I buy directly from her website and some people also sell on facebook, etc. i have no idea of the site you mentioned but is it possible that is their identical shop on a different platform?

No. Wish.com is a Chinese site. You can get things like baby outfits, headbands and tutus for dirt cheap. I wanted to order a headband off of etsy that was being sold for $15. I got it on wish.com for $3.
It's much of the baby stuff I'm referring too.

Also, Chinese manufacturers search through all the handmade site and mass produce the same thing. My sister had her own line of handbags and they made knockoffs of her bags.

Wish, Aliexpress, and Ebay all have the same chinese imports. I have seen them copy certain things also, BUT, most of the stuff you do find on the FB boutique sites, and a TON on Etsy, are just chinese imports. But, no different than Target or Walmart selling their imported goods for a larger mark up. and you are right, cheaper to just get it from the source!
