Do kids play outside in your neighborhood?

With the warm weather the last few nights my kids have been playing outside. Riding bikes on the sidewalk and we've been walking around the block with them riding their bikes and we have not seen one other kid out. Do kids play outside in your neighborhood? My kids are still young so we don't know many kids around us from school etc but where is everyone??

Yes. Kids always play outside in my neighborhood. I was just thinking how nice it is to hear all of the kids outside.

My neighborhood is very old school in that way. People are always out walking, talking to the walkers from their porches, etc. I love it.

People are always out in my neighborhood. I am outside several times a week with my toddler. He will only play in the front yard.

I live on a great street...once it's nice out all the neighbors are out with the kids and us adults are usually having happy hour on someone's stoop.

I've never seen kids outside in my neighborhood.

Yes, my area is filled with young families and kids are always out.

A few ride bikes by. I don't see many others though. Everyone hangs out in their yards. I have a gorgeous yard with a pool...no reason to hang out on my barren front lawn or scalding hot blacktop driveway

Nope not really. Once in a while a smaller kid will be on a bike but it's kind of rare. More likely to see dogs being walked or babies in strollers.

Yes. It's nice to see families taking walks or riding their bikes around the block

I live right across the street from a park, so there are kids all the time.

I see kids sometimes riding bikes, but not regularly. I try to take walks with my kids at least 2 or 3 times a week, and sometimes we see kids in their front yards, but I think most parents feel safer with their kids playing in the backyard. I know I do. My kids are never allowed in the front yard with out me, at least not until they're older. (they're only 4 and 1 now). But I do let them play in the front as long as I'm able to stay out there with them.

If we walk to the school nearby there are usually kids on the playground. I see older kids riding bikes or playing ball but I'm guessing younger kids play in backyards like we do.

Yes! It was one of the reasons we bought a house in our neighborhood.

Yes, we are lucky that we have a lot of kids on our block. There are 5 boys who are the same age as my DS (8) and lots of siblings. They play outside together a lot. We have basketball hoops, they ride bikes and scooters, play baseball or soccer or tag or hide and seek.

Sadly no. I love our neighborhood but it's mostly older families. The homes with young kids are few and far between and I never see them outside. My kids play in the backyard constantly and occasionally out front or ride bikes/scooters in the driveway but only with DH or I present. We don't have sidewalks so that makes walks and riding bikes around the neighborhood less enticing.

There are always kids and adults in my neighborhood - riding bikes, pushing baby carriages, playing in the front yard, basketball, hockey, people taking walks, jogging, pushing baby carriages, etc. It's very active. Don't know why the kids are usually in the front yard instead of the back.

Yes, my kids (4 and 7) are outside almost everyday riding bikes or scooters, playing with chalk on the driveway and even climbing trees. However, I don't see many other kids outside (and there are plenty). I assume most are in aftercare programs during the week and camp during the summer.

We have a lot of young kids on our block and they are always playing outside together. My son adores the 8 year old twin girls across the street.
