Any low AMH success stories?

My AMH is now low, under .5. Please share any low AMH success stories with IVF.

What was your AMH when you did IVF?
How many embryos did you have?
Did you do a 3 day or 5 day transfer?
How many did you transfer?
Did anything help with the amount of emrbyos or quality? Priming? Supplements?

Anything else? Please share.

Trying to prepare myself as this is a new issue for me.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Any low AMH success stories?

I used coq10 as I was told by my doctors that it is the only supplement with research behind it. I'm not sure if it helped. I would typically get two blasts from a cycle no matter how many follicles or eggs or embryos I had in the beginning. I have tried just about every other form of voodoo imaginable as well, but I would (at this point) not recommend those other things.

The most important things I did:
* used a tippity-top-notch lab (RMANJ)
* PGS-tested my embryos to make sure I was at least putting myself through transfer for a chromosomally normal embryo since the DOR can mean greater risk of abnormalities

I am currently 26w with twin girls from a DET. I went through many cycles to get here. However, I had a separate issue with my lining that is totally unrelated to the low AMH issue, namely delayed endometrial receptivity that was discovered by the ERA biopsy/test. I think I would have conceived with a lot less strife if this test had existed when I started the process.

Congratulations! Twins is so exciting. Sorry for all you have been through. So unfair. I've been on here for a few years and always find your comments helpful.

Thank you for your response. Its helpful. Hearing other people's stories and information helps a lot. I need to be prepared.

Last I checked my AMH was .03. I tried IVF but it was canceled due to not enough eggs being produced. It switched to an IUI and I became pregnant that cycle. The next time I tried I took clomid, and became pregnant on an IUI. I have one "natural" older child. I took a slew of supplements, as well as acupuncture. If you would like the list, PM me.

Thanks! Thats great IUI and Clomid worked for you with a low AMH. I've tried 6 IUIs in the past and multiple IVFs. I was finally successful with IVF in 2014. However, I am now DOR so I'm worried that nothing will work.

Re: Any low AMH success stories?

Hi,

If I remember correctly my AMH was .4 when I first started my journey. My FSH was very high as well, so I was diagnosed with DOR. You can only imagine my shock since I was only in my early 30's.

Fast forward a few years I have 3 beautiful LO's. Twins and a singleton.

I had 8 eggs retrieved (which was in the normal range) and 6 fertilized to become embryos.

I did a fresh transfer on day 5 my first time around and MC.
2nd time we did a FET and transferred 2. Had 1 LO
3rd time we did a FET and transferred 2. Had twins

My embies were frozen on day 5, so they were all 5DT.

For about 3 months before my retrieval I was taking CoQ10, wheat grass, Fish-oil, and going for acupuncture 2x per week. Once I met with my fertility doc she told me to stop taking supplements and continue the acupuncture if it was relaxing me and helping with the stress.

As hard as it is... try not to over analyze. Everyday I was trying to find more information and I was joining all these forums and groups... but for me it was making me more depressed.
The less I went on the internet the better my moral was. If you ever need anything, please message me.

Stay strong AND hopeful. There are PLENTY of success stories out there. DOR isn't the end of the road.

Re: Any low AMH success stories?

I was .28 and then went up to .76.
Drs really don't understand AMH. Some say it can never change however when they retest many women, the number goes up or down.
I had a successful pregnancy with DOR and I'm not exactly sure what helped me. It was a month after a failed IVF cycle with no surviving eggs or embryos.
I was heavily suppressed with lupron so did that help lower my estrogen so I could have a successful natural implantation?
I did acupuncture with Andy during ovulation that month- did that help? I was doing non stop acu for over a year at that point.
I was taking supplements like ubiquanol, bee pollen, omega 3's, pycnogenol and DH was taking the same including melatonin
I was gluten free- not purely for IF but in my Drs inkling that I may be celiac or have an inflammatory response to gluten. I have stage 4 endo so staying away from it is highly recommended.
As you may remember bc I journeyed with you with our pregnancies, I saw many specialists. I think the only ones I didn't consult with were RMA. Everyone told me I had DOR and I had no chance even though I was very young. Everyone! The only one who had hope was Dr. T and even he couldn't explain why my body rejected all of the IF meds. I even rejected the trigger shot. The point is, no one can really explain the human body or why it does what it does. Don't focus on the bad or the number.
Did you try Dr. Kofinas? I may consult with him soon and see what he has to say. I'll admit, I'm terrified to see my numbers. But look at all of these amazing ladies on here that beat the odds. There's no reason why you can't! Wishing you all the best! Are you still with SIRM?

HEY! Long time no talk. Thanks for the well wishes. Interesting your AMH fluctuated so much. Maybe I should test mine again. I know its not the be all end all but hard to hear when you are going to have to do a fresh cycle. Your story was amazing.

As for me I did a FET with SIRM with my only embryo but unfortunately its ending in a MC. So I'll have to do another fresh cycle but can't afford SIRM now that I have no insurance. So I'll have to figure all that out when my body gets back to normal.

I hope you are doing well. Feel free to FM me if you ever want to talk.

Re: Any low AMH success stories?

My amh was .76 and then .26 with my 2 successful cycles. I had borderline FSH (9.8 and then 8.2). I was also AMA at the time (37 during my first cycle and 39 during my second).

My last cycle was actually the best I'd ever had. 15 R, 8F with ICSI, transferred 2, and 3 made it to freeze. We never had anything to freeze before that cycle and barely had anything to transfer. On paper, no one would have expected that cycle to go that way, but it did.

Wow that sounds like an awesome cycle! Did you do anything differently? What was your protocol? Thanks

The really significant change was one I requested, based upon my own, obsessive research. I asked my RE to decrease my Menopur dosage markedly for that cycle. My RE agreed to my request, and he decided to also increase my dosage of Bravelle. He'd basically thrown in the towel because the cycle right before my last, I only produced 5 eggs. Only 1 fertilized via ICSI. We transferred the embryo and it resulted in a chemical pregnancy. I was (and still am) convinced that my eggs were getting fried, for lack of a better term, from the high Menopur dosage. The protocol included estrogen priming as well. I took the same supplements I always did in the past (the typical CoQ10, Royal Jelly in honey, etc.).

ETA: We always did 3 day transfers

Thanks so much! This is very helpful and gives me hope. I have always done a 5dt and am thinking about doing a 3d since now I'm DOR. I always have a bunch still going on day 3 but not many make it to blast by day 5. Did you freeze the others from that cycle on day 3 or 5?

2 frozen on day 3; 1 frozen on day 5...I think. It may have been the reverse order, but it was definitely both day 3 and 5.

Interesting. I'm going to ask about a 3dt if we don't have too many eggs. Thanks
