Days are getting longer now!
Yesterday was the Winter Solstice, so that means that the daylight hours are getting longer now!

Yes!!!
I have to say - I LOVE the colder months, but this getting dark out at 4:30 p.m. has really started to affect me so negatively. It's so dark when I get home from work and I feel like all I should be doing is going to bed. Very depressing, so this is good news.

Me too!
Counting the days to spring (which I kinda hate because of the bugs, but I'll take sunshine and some warmth any day over this shit)
Why can't it be fall again lol

I didn't feel like it got as dark as it has in previous years, KWIM? I feel like it was still semi-light out at like 5, when in years past it was pitch dark at 4:30. I remember going to a 4:15 class (when I was in college a million years ago) and it was legit DARK out.

Bleck. I love fall and winter......................I hate the countdown into spring and the god awful heat of summer. I know, I am weird.  I enjoy these short, dark, cozy days!!

YAY!!! I was saying that all day yesterday. Even though I know it means Winter is REALLY here, it feels good knowing it's on its way out!!!

I always thought it was just a preference - because i hate cold weather, and winter, and this time of year in general.
But it's actually proven that less sunlight leads to lower levels of serotonin in the brain- thus causing more depression, etc
As humans we are wired for daylight

I've been really bad lately.
The past month.
I was wondering if I was clinically depressed. Then I think back to the summer and how the same issues, problems, stresses, whatever, didn't seem so bad when I could come home from work, sit out back and breath the warm air, take a walk and breath in the smell of summer, etc.
How sitting on the beach and smell of the ocean in the early morning just soothes me.
It definitely affects me.

I've been thinking the same thing. My girls dance at 4 too and it was always dark by 4:30 last year this year when we leave at 5 it's just getting dark.
