Why Presidents need the daily security briefings....
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-drone-china_us_58594304e4b08debb78b0542
WASHINGTON ? Donald Trump launched his Twitter campaign against China’s seizure of a U.S. Navy research submersible last week to great fanfare ? and, as it turns out, hours after the crisis had already been defused.
It’s unclear whether the president-elect or his aides knew that fact ? it would have been included in the intelligence briefing available to him each morning ? before he sent out his misspelled missive of outrage at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters ? rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act,” Trump wrote. He deleted that version and replaced it with “unprecedented” spelled correctly at 8:57 a.m. ... In any case, Trump transition team spokesman Jason Miller was quick to take credit for his boss when news broke that China had agreed to return the device. At 11:54 a.m., he tweeted: “@realdonaldtrump gets it done,” and attached a link to an article in The Hill about the resolution of the incident. At 6:52 p.m., Miller tweeted a link to another story in The Hill, this one about his earlier tweet taking credit for Trump’s initial tweet.
And Trump himself capped off the day with a final tweet sent during the short motorcade from Palm Beach International Airport back across the Intracoastal Waterway to his Mar-a-Lago resort following a rally in Alabama: “We should tell China that we don’t want the drone they stole back.? let them keep it!”
The encounter’s resolution, though, resulted not from Trump’s 140-character snippets of anger, but days of traditional diplomacy. The Chinese vessel had taken the submersible on Thursday just as the USNS Bowditch was preparing to retrieve it about 60 miles northwest of the Philippines’ Subic Bay in the South China Sea. ...
This is going to be a disastrous 4 years... assuming he (and we) make it that long....
What type of "great negotiator" tells another country to just keep our technology that they stole? It's not military-grade, or classified info, but you still don't tell another super-power that they can just take and keep anything they want to steal from us....
And to take credit for a resolution that was done hours before you had a twitter rant?

People think I'm nuts for getting a go-bag to keep under my desk and to get them for home.
I am by no means an alarmist. I'm usually pretty even Steven with things.
But this shit is crazy.

If there was a throw up Emote-icon it would be my entire post. He just makes me ill. This is the man that is going to run a country?! He needs to stop with the twitter posts and concentrate on the country. The man needs to check his ego at the white house door... or is he going to gaudy it all up and we'll have to call it the Gold House.

Honestly, that exchange reminded me of how my brothers and I used to take each others stuff to be mean and then say "Keep it, I don't want it anyway!" When we were under age 10.
He is out of his depth and he is not surrounding himself with people who have the knowledge and experience to give him advice.

I can't believe our country did this. I can't believe we have to put our faith in him.

This exactly. I picture him stomping his feet and saying "fine, keep our stupid drone anyway!"
This is not a president. This is not presidential behavior.
It's certainly unpresidented though!

Re: Why Presidents need the daily security briefings....
I'm starting to lose my mind! I cannot believe this is what we have to endure for the next 4 years! Why don't we give IQ tests to presidential candidates? Or mental health testing? This is absurd that the United State of America is going to be lead by Donald Trump. Really? This lunatic is more concerned about his Twitter account than the security and safety of the citizens. I'm afraid for us. I told dh I hate living on Long Island because we can't even get off in the event some type of WWIII starts. I'm not generally an alarmist but I fear we are headed that way. Thanks America...thanks again!

Re: Why Presidents need the daily security briefings....
I still can't even fathom that he is our next president. I was hoping and hanging on to ANY chance that somehow the Electoral College wouldn't put him in (as slight a chance as it was). I felt like I couldn't give up hope that we would be saved from this nightmare. But no, here we are, and it literally makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm still disgusted. And I think what irritates me more is that the people who voted for him DON'T see this!!! UGH.
This is NOT how a PRESIDENT acts. This is how a CHILD acts.
