I know nothing about 21 Pilots but I went to the ZBB concert at Citifield on Friday and was SHOCKED at the teens in our area (we were in a special coach bus area) that were wasted, drugged out, and literally being complete disasters. How these parents let their teens on coach buses to go to a concert is beyond me - these kids had kegs, tents, catered food - it was unreal. I lost count of how many kids I saw throwing up, falling down, etc. The paramedics were basically on stand by.

Sorry - that was totally off base from your question but I'm still scratching my head over this!

My coworker who was there was just telling me about this... she said her section was filled with a bunch of teenyboppers, I was surprised.

Wow. Out of curiosity (not that it makes it much better, but just wondering), about how old are we talking? Like young teens or like 17/18?

I definitely saw older teens like in the 17/18 range, but in particular, there was one group of kids that I would swear were closer to 14/15 - a bunch of them with braces, just very "young" looking, like freshman in HS versus seniors in HS.

There was recently a concert at Jones Beach- I can't recall who- that made the news because there were so many arrests and so many teens taken to the hospital.
They were all falling down drunk and had to be carried out into ambulances.
It was insane to watch.

I was there as well and saw a group of girls that easily could have been 15 years old, so incredibly wasted they could barely even walk and that was BEFORE the concert even started. It was so disturbing and sad to see.

I was there as well, and our area was filled with younger college kids (maybe seniors in HS) who were completely wasted and high. I won't even get into all the young girls in crop tops and daisy dukes, looking more like strippers than cute cowgirls.

The amount of pot that was being smoked around us was ridiculous. I'm not a goody two shoes when it comes to pot, but seriously these kids were smoking joints like they were a pack of cigarettes, just puffing away and away and away. 20 minutes later they were passing another.

I mean how high do you wanna be?
Besides all that - it was a great concert.

ETS: The tailgating that was happening at this concert may have surpassed any football game tailgating I have ever seen. We drove around for almost 45 minutes in the lot trying to find a spot that was not taken up with tents, flip the cup tables, bbq's, make shift porta potties, tables of food, bean bag toss - you name it, it was in that parking lot Friday night. DH finally forced some people out of a spot because they were doing nothing but standing there.

It's really annoying how spots can be taken up for bbq's etc
They should have a certain area for it.

It's also gross how sloppy some adults are with not throwing away their trash

And leaving jones beach after a concert brings out the worst in humanity. Seeing everyone drink so much and smoke pot and then get behind a car is scary. And then the mad rush to the exit in their car. Almost had a big truck hit us because he HAD to get in front of us. In a rush to nowhere.

Side note, I was right outside Penn at 8AM before the 21 pilots concert and there were young kids lined up that slept overnight to get on the rail. At least 30-40 kids. I felt so old, I had no idea that 21 pilots were that big of a thing (I've heard of them before but couldn't point out a song if you paid me a million dollars.) And how parents would let their mid-teenagers sleep on the NYC street unsupervised.

Then again I will never listen to pop or regular rock so maybe that is why I had no clue. Either way I felt so old! I mean, I slept on the NYC street for the Foo Fighters secret show year before - but at least I was 37 at the time! Chat Icon

They should TOTALLY have sobriety check points on the way out.
They would bust SOOOO many assholes who drink and drive.

And this is why drunk driving will always always be an issue. Because they aren't allowed to really aggresively go after it.
Set up right outside these shitshow concerts and see how many assholes you'd catch.
