Spinoff to groceries... shop rite & other supermarkets

I always hear about how cheap shoprite is compared to other supermarkets, and so many people on the grocery thread said the same....but a new shoprite opened up near me and I found everything so much more expensive than other supermarkets. What am i doing wrong? Lol

Shoprite hands down is cheaper than the other chains. It's far from me, but when I go, I always save a lot more money. Maybe it's what I buy, but I always shop sales and use their circular coupons.

Like pp said shop the circular. After a few weeks I feel like you'd get into a rotation with purchases. I stock up on certain things when they're on sale (like cereal, shredded cheese, meat). That way if there isn't a sale one week I can usually get by. The produce process ate great if you shop with the sales. I even get my paper good and all that there bc it saves me money to stay out of bjs and especially target. Also, use the store coupons and digital coupons. I also have my store card linked to a savingstar account which accumulates cash back.

I've started comparison shopping since a shop rite opened near by - their toiletries/health and beauty aid products are priced very well normally, and usually there are coupons that make them free or close to free. i've gotten free peanut butter, disposable razors, floss, etc. i usually get my circulars on tuesdays and price out stop and shop and shop rite for the week. when certain brands/items are on sale, it's hard to pass up. otherwise, i tend to go to shop and stop more bc i get the gas points.

I used to be a crazy couponer and shoprite definitely has the best sales. Download the app and add digital coupons to your shoprite card. They'll automatically come off at checkout. Plus they're stackable with paper coupons.

Shop rite organic chicken breasts are $1more per Lb than at whole foods. But organic peppers are cheaper.

One just opened about 15 minutes from me. I'm gonna try it in a couple of weeks.

Exactly this. Even with the shop from home, I still save a ton and I usually get coupons for the personal shopper fee.

What's a savingstar account?

It's a website/app that gives you money if you buy certain items. Once you hit $5, you can transfer it to PayPal.
