Recommend a Vacation for us
Family consists of: me, wife, DD (2 years old), DS (6 months)
Since DD came along we have not taken a vacation. All we've done are stay-cations.
I would love to go some place over seas and do some sightseeing, but with the 2 kids I think that's not possible. (I love running from tourist trap to tourist trap to see things, most adults think my schedule is "too much" so I think its definitely too much for a kid)
So what are vacations that we can do for a week?

We just got back a week or so ago from Ocean City, MD. Had a great time.
Lake George is also a great family vacation.

beach vacations- we go each year to Myrtle Beach but I know people who have gone to the outerbanks, ocean city, rehoboth beach.

Cape Cod. You can see the beaches, tour the lighthouses, go to Martha's Vineyard for the day.

Recommend a Vacation for us
Royal Caribbean is having a kids sail free promo if you're interested in a cruise. We had one booked already for March with my 2 kids (turning 3 while we're away, and 18 months when we sail). We just upgraded our room to a family Jr suite because of the sale since it's $400 less than the regular balcony room we originally booked. So excited!

Disney Cruise!!! Seriously so worth the money. We did 7 nights with a 6 yr old and a 2.5 yr old and it was amazing!

Thanks for some of the suggestions.
Not sure we're up for a flight with a 6month old and a 2 year old.
Always wanted to do a Disney cruise, but not sure a 2 year old would get much value out of it.

Every kid is different but at 2 and younger DS had fun anywhere.
I had to go a conference in DC and my mom and DS tagged along. DS was 2 and he was just content to run around. He got a kick out of running up and down the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, checking out the outdoor sculpture garden at the National gallery, etc. He napped in the stroller while we explored museums.
We took a few other trips that weren't totally kid centric and they worked out fine.
Enjoy it while you can because now he's 6 if we brought him to DC he'd be ok for half a day and then he'd be looking for a playground or a roller coaster.
Since you like sights and attractions but don't want to fly I would do a nice walkable kid friendly city like Boston, DC or Philly.
If you don't mind flying they are young enough for free admission to Disney. You don't pay until they're 3.

Recommend a Vacation for us
We just got back from Mexico with my 3 1/2 year old and my 10 month old.. AMAZING! We stayed at an all inclusive and it was perfect.
