I'm so sorry, I hope you are ok. It's so devastating to say goodbye to a beloved pet. It's best you get to be there for him . I went on family vacation and my poor sweet cat became gravely ill and had to be put down immediately while I was away. I never got to say goodbye to my little sweetie and had to give the OK to put her down over the phone
