Poison Ivy
Anyone have poison ivy recently? How long did it last?
I noticed it last Tuesday and went to the doctor on Saturday because it had spread everywhere. Doctor said it may get worse for a few days before it gets better. I got a topical ointment to use until it cleared but not to exceed 14 days. It's still pretty bad. I wouldn't say it's spreading anymore but blotches are now rashes and I'm still pretty uncomfortable. Tomorrow will be day 10.

I had poison oak. I am super sensitive to it, caught it thru the air, not touching it. Was initially on my face, around my eyes, my chest, then spread to small patches other places.
Was active for about two weeks, even with the heavy dose of prednisone I was on. Took another two weeks for patches to disappear.

DH is very sensitive to poison ivy. It usually takes about a month to disappear on him.

I feel so bad for you because poison ivy is really so horrendous. When I had it, the doctor gave me a shot of steroids which helped tremendously. And also oral steroids to take. But overall i think it takes a good 2.5 - 3 weeks to clear up. Feel better!!

I actually had it on the entire side of my face last month.
I either got it from a gardening tool or my dog.
The doctor gave me a 5-day pack of Prednisone and told me to buy any OTC ointment. By day 2; it was clearing up so fast. Even the people I work with couldn't believe it.
It probably lasted a good week and a half to fully heal.

I also had it on my face once and am 99% positive it was from my dog. It was the only possible way I could have gotten it.

I literally came across your post about two minutes after reading about poison ivy. Apparently the soap Fels Naptha is good for helping get rid of it.
