What would you say to me to try and convince me to vote for your candidate?

Serious replies only please.

if you dislike any candidate in particular, then not voting is just ensuring he/she is one vote closer to winning. While I don't like either one, I despise Trump. I will vote for Hilary in hopes that he loses.

Pick an issue that is important to you and see which candidate has the same views as you.

I like these types of sites. This is just the first one I picked, but there are others. It asks your stance on lots of policies, then compares your responses with how the major candidates stand.
This avoids the "She's a Criminal!", "He's a Racist!" opinions, and just goes based on stances.

I agree. Seeing where each one stands on your biggest concerns will hopefully help you filter out the nonsense. Looking at sites like FactCheck and Politifact are also helpful as I feel they do a good job of pulling out the facts.

I just did it and it didn't help me figure out what I'm going to do . Reason being I side 95% with Trump, but there is no way I'm voting for him!

But I still think its important to vote with which party you identify more with. Trump is not going to be able to do many of the things that are being talked about....that's the reason our government was set up the way it is...check & balances so that 1 person does not hold all the power. So even if you dont necessarily like Trump its still important to vote that way if you're on the same side of the issues.

I will be voting for Hillary. One of the main reasons is because the next president will be most likely appointing at least 1 SCOTUS justice, maybe as many as 3. According to my personal beliefs, a conservative justice or 3 could be problematic.

For me it's simple. Trump is all about combat and boots on the ground. My single biggest fear as a mom is the return of the draft. Hence, Hillary and not Trump must be president.

I don't like either candidate as a person, but I feel that Hillary has more political knowledge. I mean this completely seriously: Trump scares me because he rules with an iron fist, and I don't know what that would mean to a democracy. I just don't see him fitting into a democratic system and it truly does frighten me. I also tend to have more left-wing ideals, especially boosting middle class, addressing student loan debt, and paid childcare leave. These issues are important to me, and i align myself more with the left on how to address these issues.

Hillary is completely qualified Nd ready. Hillary had all the experience someone needs to be president.

Also I see that Trump says whatever he wants. a lot of what he does and says (all Twitter rants, making fun of the disabled, telling a reporter to shut up and "joking" that Russia should commit espionage) is not presidential.

She is also VERY well
Respected around the world. She has met and known most of these leaders for years and has relationships. She knows diplomacy and can act accordingly.

She understands the economy and will be fighting for everyone, but especially the middle class.

But one of the most important things is she will
Hold the key to at least on SCOTUS nom. Probably two. The future of how we are governed is critical. People may not like the fact that 2 men can marry. But it's not enough to deny them civil, human, basic rights because "people don't like it". You may not like abortion, but my congressman should not have a say in medical procedures I have. Even if they don't like it.

For those reasons, and more I urge you to look into HRC and what she stands for. If you like what you read them i encourage you to vote for her.

I think all you need to do is look at what issues the party stands for and how you fit it into your views.

I have always said you vote for the party beliefs not the specific person because in the end that's how things get down via the party lines.

Once you see which side you lean more towards then you will have a clearer picture. I think you need to take Hilary and Donald out of the picture first then add them back in at the end.

Generally, I could agree with what you are saying, but I think this election is so very different from the past, because of Trump. He is very different from the "typical" Republican, doesn't necessarily have the same platform, and changes what he says he's going to do on a regular basis. He doesn't even have the backing of a large segment of the Republican party. So, I don't think this reasoning works this time around.

To the OP - I think the links posted to quizzes can be very helpful. But, I also think this time around things are so crazy that you really need to decide which issues are the most important to you and vote for the candidate you think will support those issues. For me personally, Hillary is the only choice because social issues such as women's rights, gay rights, and pro-choice laws are not something I want to see backslide, which I think will happen with Trump. I don't think Trump gives a damn about anyone's pocket but his own. Despite her shortcomings, Hillary has fought for women, children, and the poor for her entire adult life - and I think she will continue to do that as president.

I agree with most of this, except I do like Hillary.

From what I'm hearing and seeing, Trump doesn't want to rule a democracy. He doesn't want to be president, he wants to be dictator. There are a number of other republicans who won't support him and will say that he's not a republican or a conservative at all. I think that matters a lot too.

I was on the fence but was leaning a certain way. I watched both the DNC and RNC in its entirety. I am switching who I had planned on voting for.

I would usually agree with that, but in my case, when I took that quiz, I got 95% Trump. I do lean conservative, and even though I know that the President does not have absolute power, I cannot in good conscience vote for Trump. I probably would have voted for any other Republican.
