It's sad that nobody is talking about policies
The vast majority of this election cycle isn't "I like X's plan to fix Y", or "I don't like A's plan to do B". It's all "Lyin' X", or "A is involved in scandal B".
When do we start looking at actual plans and policies at a National level? Hopefully the upcoming debates will focus on some of that, but I'm not holding my breath.
For me and my family, I don't care who had an affair, who doesn't like who, who is accused (but not convicted... this applies to both parties). I care about what the plans that affect the country are, and how that might affect me.

Unfortunately the media clings to scandal because also unfortunately , this is what gets ratings. Even the race for president is a reality show
You're right. It's quite disgusting.
We can hope the debates help give the voters the actual information they need to make the right choice for them

You don't need to wait for debates. The information is there, on each candidates website. And many other sites.
I have never been one to follow the drama. I like to know what the person wants to do for the country. If you do the research, you can see the stark contrast in the choice this November.

I've read info on both and still undecided. Which is why i feel that hearing the debates will help me make a better choice. I'm waiting to feel that pull - either way
ETA: I even went on some site (I don't remember) that had questions and Mutiple choice answers (out of sheer curiosity ) - when I was done, it said higher % republican. Which again, has never been me.

Was it isidewith.com?
Also, Politifact is a great site for seeing what statements have been true or false by the candidates.

Re: It's sad that nobody is talking about policies
I agree; it's very sad. Most comments that I see--here and elsewhere--are just about why the other side is bad, or the comments just unequivocally state that their opinion is correct without providing any support. I feel that is often the case with elections, but it is especially bad this time around.

Clinton favors $15 minimum wage (thanks to Bernie). Trump does not, and said some jobs it should maybe be lowered.
Clinton wants equal pay as a law, Trump basically has said "if they do as good a job, they should get paid the same." But doesn't think there should be any legislation for it.
Trump wants to get rid of common core. Clinton supports the concept of common core, but has criticized how it has been implemented.

Clinton supports and increase. Trump initially did but is now claiming he needs more information before he commits to a dollar figure.
Clinton supports Common Core. Trump says he will repeal it, but he has no other stance on education.

What are your specific objections to Common Core?" Tapper asked.
"Education through Washington, D.C., I don’t want that," Trump replied. "I want local education, I want the parents and I want all of the teachers, and I want everybody to get together around a school and to make education great."
Everything is going to be great.

Donald has 7 policies posted on his official site, and one of them is The Wall.
Clinton lists 37.

This is a good site:
http://2016election.procon.org/view.source-summary-chart.php
You can then click on each issue and see what they said about it.

Re: It's sad that nobody is talking about policies
I honestly think people just don't really want to be informed because it takes work to try and read up on and understand a lot of the true issues. Honestly, in my circle of family and friends (well, not my closest but those more distant to me) they are just lazy and don't care or don't want to know the issues. They just form opinions on anything else like appearance and speeches or they pinpoint the one or two issues that are easy to grasp (like for or against abortion). They're not looking into immigration policies or even the extent of education that they should... there are 100's of issues and policies, but maybe 10 good main topics (like education, immigration, military, social issues, health/medical issues, economic factors, other financial matters, technology, gun policies, environmental issues, etc.) and i bet a lot of people honestly don't realize what that actually entails or care enough about it to have a legitimate voice. You don't need to be informed to vote and I think that is sad. Everyone should need to take a course or something on the issues and figure out what side they are on first before showing up at the polls.
