Love it there! Are you docking at champlins? They have a pool, playground, arcade, bakery all on sight. There's also a public playground with a little skate park, an animal farm, kayak and paddle board rentals, crystal clear beaches, a science centre where they do kids programs.

Re: Block Island, anyone been?
If you're staying in Newport, RI, would it be feasible to take the ferry to Block Island to spend the afternoon or something?

Yep, you'd be a short drive from the ferry from point judith. That one takes you right to the middle of town.

Thanks for answering. Do you need to spend the entire day if going, or just a few hours? Maybe rent bikes to ride or something.

The airport diner is cute and its fun to watch the small planes take off and land. (the employees can have a bit of attitude though. )
There's horseback riding. (Rustic Rides) We've take our kids for rides along the beach and down in Rodman's Hollow.
We've taken the kids crabing and kayaking.
There's two beautiful lighthouses worth checking out. North Light is not as busy, but it can be more challenging to get to if you don't have a vehicle.
As others have said, they have a small animal farm, which is cute for the kids and it's right outside of town.
How I miss Block Island. It's one of my favorite places on earth.
