Re: Michelle Obama

Wow, now THAT is a First Lady. She really touched on what I have been thinking about lately. What would I tell my kids if Trump were elected? How could I explain why this man was elected and that they should respect him as leader of their country? How do I tell my superhero obsessed 5 year old that a "bad guy" was elected President?

Her speech was magnificent. Her intelligence and class is what a true first lady is all about. She is a truly beautiful woman, inside and out. And Corey Booker too - he is everything we need in our government right now.

Me too!!

I've always found President Obama to also be extremely well spoken as well. Regardless of whether or not you like him as a President, he's a great speech giver IMO. Michelle is too, she did great last night!! I enjoyed listening to what she had to say. Chat Icon

Re: Michelle Obama

It's going to be a very sad day when she leaves the white house. She is everything a first lady should be. I got teary eyed watching her speech last night. I'm going to miss her.

I actually thought that if Hillary opened the door to a woman president, she is also opening the door to a black woman president and Michelle could run.

Her speech was full of optimism and dreams for the younger generation.

Curious what you think makes her qualified to run for president? Not being snarky just genuinely curious.

wait people actually need to have qualification to run for president? Chat Icon Chat Icon now that trump actually is nominated for Republican party its safe to say there will never be any qualifications needed to be president of this country.

Constitution says to be "qualified", you have to be at least 35, a natural born US citizen, and living in the US for the 14 years leading up to the nomination.

Anything after that is up to public opinion....

Exactly - there is no "degree" in "presidenting" that people can get, it's all about their experience and background.

not sure if the comments are towards me but I know the only qualifications needed is what goldenrod wrote and I was being sarcastic if I wasn't clear with my post Chat Icon Chat Icon

In all honestly i really do think we need to change what qualifies you to be president instead of allowing anyone to run.
