Did you hear about the fake bomb in Times Square last night
Pretty heroic what these cops did when they thought it was a real bomb the nut job threw in their car:
Cops race to get suspected bomb out of Times Square
From the article:
"I look around, saw a lot of kids, a lot of young people," said Armani, a 10-year NYPD veteran and father to a young daughter. "We both look at each other and I go, 'We're going to go, but I'm not going to have anyone else go with us.'"
And they proceeded to drive with it to a location that was less crowded with people.
Very selfless....thank God it was a fake

Re: Did you hear about the fake bomb in Times Square last night
I work right near Columbus Circle. I almost didn't go to work today. I've worked in Manhattan since 1993, worked downtown on 9/11, ride the bus or the train every day. I don't let any of it get to me. I don't even think about it most days. Today I cried before I went to work afraid I wouldn't see my babies again. It's really getting to be too much for me.. and I'm from Brooklyn, nothing gets to me.
Thank God for those men, their bravery and their quick thinking.

This is like something out of a movie- it's so refreshing to see someone in real life this brave and selfless, especially lately. So glad no one was hurt.

Re: Did you hear about the fake bomb in Times Square last night
Here is more. So amazing....
NYPD HEROES OF TIMES SQUARE As we shared yesterday, two NYPD cops selflessly moved what they thought was an explosive device away from thousands of people in Times Square. Here’s more about these two heroes and how they protected NYC:
Sergeant Hameed Armani is a 10-year veteran of the NYPD. He came to the U.S. from Afghanistan. When asked why he and Police Officer Peter Cybulski drove away instead of fleeing the police van the sergeant responded, “I looked around and saw people, including many kids, all around us. There was no way we were leaving the van.”
Police Officer Peter Cybulski, who has three years on the force, agreed and said there was no way they were leaving the van in the middle of Times Square. He said, “I took this job for a reason- to protect and serve. That was what we were going to do.”
As they drove off to a secluded area, they each said a prayer. Sergeant Hameed, a Muslim, and Officer Cybulski, a Catholic, each recited prayers of their faiths as they pulled over on West 46th Street and requested the NYPD Bomb Squad to respond. Fortunately, after investigating the device, the Bomb Squad deemed it to be a hoax.
Later Wednesday evening the subject and the vehicle were found in Columbus Circle. When confronted by other police officers, the subject stated he was in possession of explosives and there were explosives in the vehicle. After a nearly six-hour standoff that required the response of numerous units including Patrol, Emergency Service Unit (ESU), Bomb Squad, K9, and the Hostage Negotiation Team, ESU officers were able to successfully end the situation and take the man into custody.
