lifetime Fitness Garden City
worth it or no way?
I want to just join for the summer and do a month to month membership mostly for the pool...thoughts? (quoted $249 for myself and DH)

I'm pretty sure there's an initiation fee to join on top of your monthly fees.

$119 is the supposedly lower initiation fee for month to month
If we did a year contract it's $30 initiation and $239
I don't work out at all I really just want to use the pool everyday lol

if you just want the pool, you can use Nassau in door pool or I believe ( not 100% sure )Nassau residents can use Nassau Community College pool

We are members and it is AMAZING! We joined for the pool but we use the gym more than we could have imagined! The pool is really fantastic! Yes it's expensive but well worth it! Go in for the tour and see if you can get a week pass to try it out and then make a decision. Good luck!

My kids are tweens, but there are a ton of little ones there. they have the kids club, which is babysitting for kids. They seem to do a lot with them, and the kids love it. I see them doing basketball, games, and crafts.
I also know they have karate (which is an extra price) and swim program.
Check it out, I am sure you will love it, and again there are so many kids there!

We joined the Syosset one a few years ago and stopped going. The pool gets full of the kids doing the summer camp there all day, and it's very crowded during the weekends. There are no kids just hanging out bc they are all in summer camp in this area. To us the novelty wore off pretty quickly as it became more popular and I just put my own kids in daycamp. I wonder if the GC one is different than this?
